Biblical Teaching That Meets Real Life Needs: Speaking Topics & Booking
Angela Mackey is a female Christian speaker, Bible teacher, author, and podcast host with a Master's in Biblical and Theological Studies and over 15 years of experience teaching God's Word in nearly every corner of the local church. She brings that theological depth into her speaking at women's retreats, church conferences, MOPS groups, college chapels, and ministry events nationally — with a style that is warm, humorous, and honest about the messy, beautiful reality of following Jesus. Whether your group is walking through a hard season or simply hungry to go deeper with Scripture, Angela teaches in a way that makes the Bible feel like it was written for the specific moment your people are in right now.

Biblical Topics for Retreats, Conferences & Church Events
Every topic below can be shaped to fit your group — from a single 30-minute message to as many as four hour-long sessions across a full weekend retreat. Angela works with event coordinators to customize each talk for your audience's age range, life stage, denominational background, and the specific questions your community is wrestling with. Nothing is one-size-fits-all here.
Trust in the Lord: A Study of Psalm 20
What does it actually look like to trust God when the outcome is uncertain? This Psalms-based teaching explores the difference between intellectual belief and the kind of bone-deep trust that holds up under pressure. Drawing from Psalm 20, Angela walks groups through a scriptural foundation for surrendering outcomes to God without giving up hope — a deeply relevant message for any season of uncertainty, waiting, or unanswered prayer. Ideal for a Psalms study, a retreat, or a Sunday evening series.
The Lord My Shepherd: A Study of Psalm 23
Most people have heard Psalm 23 so many times it has stopped landing. This session is designed to make it land again. Angela takes one of the most familiar passages in Scripture and opens it up, word by word, to reveal the full weight of what God is claiming to be for His people. This Psalms-based session is ideal for retreats, intergenerational church events, or any group that needs to be reminded — not for the first time, but in a way that finally sticks — that they are not walking alone.
Battling Joy “Stookers”: Choosing Joy in Hard Seasons
Joy is not the absence of hard things. It's a choice made in the middle of them, and Scripture has a lot to say about how that works. This session tackles the forces that drain joy from daily life (what Angela calls "joy stookers") and equips audiences with a practical, biblical framework for choosing joy not as a denial of pain but as an act of faith. Light, relatable, and deeply grounded in Scripture, this is a talk that leaves people laughing and thinking at the same time.
Wrestling with God
This session is for anyone who has prayed and waited and wondered if God is actually listening. Drawing from the biblical tradition of honest, wrestling prayer (and from her own story of grief, infertility, and faith in the dark) Angela creates space for doubt and struggle to exist inside of faith rather than outside of it. She addresses grief, loss, unanswered prayer, and the holy discomfort of a God who doesn't always explain Himself, with a gentleness that helps people feel seen rather than fixed. A powerful session for any group walking through hard circumstances or asking the questions they're afraid to say out loud.
Faith that is Big Enough
What do you do when your circumstances are bigger than your faith feels? This session explores the gap between what we know to be true about God and what we're actually experiencing — and what Scripture says about living faithfully in that gap. Angela draws on her own story alongside biblical narrative to show people that the faith that sustains us through hard seasons is not the absence of fear or doubt, but the willingness to keep trusting God in the middle of it.
Loving Well
Relationships are where faith gets tested the most. This session looks honestly at what it means to love the people in our lives the way Scripture describes, not as a warm feeling or a personality trait, but as a daily, costly, grace-fueled choice. Practical, convicting, and full of grace, this talk is well suited for one-day events, retreats, and any setting where relationships, whether in families, friendships, or church communities, are a shared point of tension or growth.
Speaking on Infertility, Pregnancy Loss, and Faith
Angela has personally walked through infertility, IVF, and pregnancy loss. She has sat with the faith questions that come with all of it: the silence of God, the body that won't cooperate, the grief that doesn't follow a timeline. She speaks to pastoral teams, church groups, MOPS groups, and churches who want to come alongside the women in their community navigating this particular kind of loss, offering not easy answers but honest, scripturally grounded companionship for the road. Her book Difficult to Conceive: A Godly Perspective for the Road Ahead is available as a companion resource for individual reading or small group use. If your pastoral team needs help navigating these issues with couples or if your women need someone who has been there and hasn't tidied it up into a neat testimony — Angela is that speaker.
Lament, Grief, and Honest Faith
There is a long tradition in Scripture of bringing grief, anger, and confusion directly to God. Drawing from Lamentations 3 and the Psalms Angela shows audiences that honest, lamenting faith is not a sign of weakness but a mark of genuine relationship with God. This session is for anyone who is in a season where God feels distant, life feels heavy, and the worship songs feel hollow; who need permission to bring all of that into the room with them. Angela teaches that lament is not the opposite of faith. It is, in fact, one of the most faithful things we can do.
